Throne of Bones

A Grimmveil Legend ⚜️
The Prince Who Returned From Exile
There are thrones carved from gold.
There are thrones carved from crystal.
And then there are thrones carved from what remains after kingdoms fall.
This is the tale of the Throne of Bones.
A legend whispered beneath silver moons and written in ink that refuses to fade. A tale of a prince who lost everything, a witch who carried vengeance in her veins, and a darkness that believed death itself could be conquered.
Before the Bone Citadel became a warning whispered to children, before the name Damien became a curse upon the lips of kings, there was a prince who watched his kingdom burn from beyond its borders.
Prince Valerian Duskryn.
Born Starveined, descended from a bloodline known for ancient magic and celestial gifts, Valerian carried the elegance of royalty and the sharp mind of the Silverveined court strategists who had shaped his upbringing.
He was a prince without a throne.
A ruler without a kingdom.
A rightful heir surrounded by enemies who believed history belonged to whoever held the crown.
And the crown belonged to a monster.
The Necromancer King
Lord Damien had once stood beside the throne as a trusted advisor. A brilliant scholar. A powerful mage. A man many believed would protect the realm.
They were wrong.
Power had always been his true devotion.
Through forbidden necromancy and ancient shadow magic, Damien discovered secrets that should have remained buried beneath Grimmveil’s oldest ruins. He learned how to command the dead, how to twist fear into loyalty, and how to turn fallen warriors into an endless army.
The kingdom did not fall in a single night.
That would have been merciful.
Instead, it fell slowly.
Noble houses turned against one another. Allies vanished into silence. Whispers became accusations, and accusations became bloodshed.
By the time the world realized what Damien had become, the dead already guarded his throne.
The Bone Citadel had risen.
And its new king had no intention of giving it back.
The Witch of The Northern Shadows
Valerian knew courage alone would not defeat Damien.
A sword could break armor.
A spell could destroy a fortress.
But neither could defeat a man who had already surrendered his soul.
To reclaim his kingdom, the lost prince needed something more dangerous than an army.
He needed someone who understood darkness.
That was when fate led him to Seryna Moonveil.
A Starveined witch from the northern forests, Seryna was known among legends as a shadow walker, a spell weaver, and a warrior who had survived what should have destroyed her.
She did not seek crowns.
She did not seek glory.
She sought revenge.
Her family had been among those stolen by Damien’s rise. Their names had been erased from history, their home consumed by the necromancer’s hunger for power.
And Seryna had spent years waiting for the chance to make him answer for every life he had taken.
When Valerian first found her, he did not find a gentle ally.
He found a storm.
Their first meeting became the stuff of legend.
Magic struck before words could.
Shadow collided with starlight.
The forest itself seemed to hold its breath as the prince and the witch tested one another, neither willing to surrender.
“You believe a crown will save your kingdom?” Seryna challenged.
Valerian stood among the shattered remnants of her spell, refusing to look away.
“No,” he answered. “But I believe the right people might.”
For the first time in years, Seryna wondered if the prince was fighting for more than a throne.
A War Written In Shadow And Flame
Together, they began the impossible.
They gathered forgotten allies.
They uncovered hidden betrayals.
They walked through courts where every smile concealed a dagger and every promise carried a hidden price.
Starveined nobles wanted control.
Silverveined houses wanted influence.
Ancient bloodlines wanted their secrets protected.
Everyone had something to gain.
Everyone had something to lose.
And somewhere between battle plans and forbidden magic, between whispered conversations beneath candlelight and hands meeting over ancient runes, something neither of them expected began to grow.
Trust.
Then desire.
Then a bond stronger than either dared admit.
For Valerian, Seryna was no longer simply the witch who could help him win his throne.
She was the one person who saw the man beneath the crown.
For Seryna, Valerian was no longer merely the prince who needed her power.
He was the first person who reminded her she was more than her pain.
But love has always been dangerous in times of war.
Especially when the enemy commands the dead.
The Siege Of The Bone Citadel
The final battle became one of Grimmveil’s greatest legends.
The Bone Citadel stood beneath a sky filled with ash and shadow. Necromantic beasts crawled from forgotten graves. Armies of the fallen marched beneath Damien’s command.
The living fought for tomorrow.
The dead fought because they had no choice.
Fire consumed the battlefield.
Shadow magic tore through the skies.
Ancient spells shook the foundations of the citadel itself.
And at the center of it all stood three souls destined to change history.
The fallen prince.
The shadow witch.
The necromancer who believed death made him immortal.
The final battle between Valerian, Seryna, and Damien was not simply a fight for a crown.
It was a battle for the future of Grimmveil.
Damien unleashed every forbidden spell he had stolen from the darkness.
Valerian answered with the strength of a ruler who had learned that a throne was not what made a king.
Seryna answered with the fury of a woman who refused to let the dead claim the living.
Together, they broke the necromancer’s reign.
The armies of bone collapsed.
The shadows retreated.
And the throne that had been built from death finally belonged to the living once more.
The Throne That Remained
Valerian reclaimed his kingdom.
But he was not the same prince who had left it.
He had learned that power without compassion becomes tyranny.
That loyalty cannot be demanded.
That love can be a weapon stronger than any blade.
Seryna Moonveil remained beside him, not as a prize won after battle, and not as a shadow behind the crown.
She became his equal.
His partner.
The witch who stood beside the king when Grimmveil entered a new age.
And so the legend of the Throne of Bones was passed down through generations.
A story of a Starveined prince who returned from exile.
A witch who turned vengeance into victory.
And a love powerful enough to defeat the one thing Damien believed belonged only to him... death itself
